Sun Silver has announced a significant breakthrough in its ongoing drilling campaign at the Maverick Springs Silver-Gold Project in Nevada, USA.

The inaugural extensional drilling program has successfully intersected high-grade silver mineralisation, confirming the extension of the resource beyond previously known boundaries.

The company reported that drill hole MR24-186 intersected silver with an average pXRF (portable X-ray fluorescence) reading of 119g/t Ag over 10.67 meters, including a remarkable 296g/t Ag over 1.5 meters.

This discovery is particularly significant as it lies 115 meters outside of historical drill intercepts, indicating that the high-grade mineralisation extends further northwest than previously mapped.

Another drill hole, MR24-188, also revealed a substantial silver mineralised zone, with pXRF readings of up to 213g/t Ag over 1.5 meters within a broader 54.86-meter interval.

This intercept supports earlier data suggesting thicker mineralisation in the northwest section of the resource area, which could lead to an upgrade in the resource classification.

The Maverick Springs Project, strategically located near the prolific Carlin Trend known for its low-cost mining operations, is already recognised for hosting an impressive JORC Inferred Mineral Resource of 125.4 million tonnes, grading 43.5g/t Ag and 0.34g/t Au.

These latest findings not only validate Sun Silver’s exploration strategy but also hint at the potential for significant resource expansion.

Sun Silver Executive Director Gerard O’Donovan, expressed enthusiasm about the results, stating, “Intersecting extensional mineralisation with high-grade pXRF readings in the first hole confirms our theory that a significant thick zone of mineralisation exists and extends in the northwest. The exploration team is excited to be drilling the next targets.”

The drilling campaign is ongoing, with further extensional targets planned to test the northwest boundary of the current resource.

These efforts are complemented by the use of portable XRF technology, which allows Sun Silver’s geologists to make real-time decisions in the field, optimising drilling strategies based on immediate data.

The latest discoveries are a strong indicator that Sun Silver’s Maverick Springs Project could hold even greater potential than initially thought.

As results continue to come in, the company is well-positioned to enhance its resource base, potentially delivering significant value to its shareholders.

The market will be watching closely as Sun Silver advances its exploration and development efforts in this world-class mining jurisdiction.
