MTM relaunching at Pomme
July 14, 2023The fires raging through Canada’s Quebec province have abated, and MTM Critical Metals will now recommence the diamond campaign over its Pomme Rare Earth and Niobium Project in the great white north.
MTM’s first hole into Canadian soil struck a mighty 500 metres of visible rare earth mineralisation, and the ten-hole, 5000 metre program to validate historical drilling and expand Pomme’s potential to hold a significant discovery of critical minerals is back underway.
The initial hole not only intersected prospective carbonatite but appeared to the naked eye to likely bear some significant rare earth grades, and logging and sampling of the diamond drill hole will be a priority once the MTM team returns to camp.
The long-awaited assays are now expected by the end of the month, and further samples will be sent away to Val d’Or as MTM prepare for a full suite of results.

Critical Canada
While Canada has largely been the subject of heightened lithium exploration, MTM saw a different opportunity, and acquired a project next door to Geomega Resources’ 266 Mt @ 1.45% TREO and 0.14% Nb2O5 asset as Canada and the US continue to act on collaboration to secure supply chains of critical minerals.
At least one rare earth company sees a premium rare earth market developing outside of China, and the rare earth superpower has already banned exports of gallium and germanium as it ponders restrictions on more critical elements.
And a niobium resource, heavily in demand and on the critical minerals lists of the major resource powers, would certainly be a hefty added prize.
