Minerals 260 (ASX:MI6) confirm copper continuity
May 22, 2023Minerals 260 have intercepted more stretches of copper-gold at Mynt, confirming the continuity of mineralisation at its emerging prospect, sitting within a wholly owned Moora Project in Western Australia’s Julimar Province.
The mineral deposit at the site has been found as deep as 200 meters below the surface. Recent tests show that the new samples in the area contain up to 1.9% copper and 0.8 grams of gold per tonne, close to similar high-grade finds.
Few were expecting a globally significant nickel-copper-PGE deposit to emerge in the Australian southwest, but more predictable was a new wave of exploration in the wake of a discovery that turned Chalice Mining from a prospect generator capped at $40m into a $2.82 billion mining power.
Minerals 260 is on the prowl for discovery to add to the region. Managing Director David Richards said these assays had continued to highlight the prospect’s potential as it continued to delineate what could be a significant zone of mineralisation.
“These latest results, combined with assays from other prospects, means we have no shortage of exciting targets to follow up across both our Moora and Koojan Projects,” Mr Richards said.
“While we are at the start of the cropping season, we are planning follow-up activity which we hope to undertake in the coming months.”
“Meanwhile, we look forward to getting the initial results from our brand-new Aston Lithium-REE Project in
the Gascoyne Province, where field activities have recently commenced.
Next steps
The drilling validated previous RC results and indicated the potential for multiple copper-gold shoots and MI6 plan follow-up drilling at Mynt while continuing work to advance targets at Mallory, Dwell, and Acga after recording highly anomalous base and precious metals levels.
Drilling is further off at Aston, with target definition expected to carry on for three to six months before MI6 properly unwraps its newly acquired critical minerals project.
