Critical Resources (ASX:CRR) completes northern Mavis Lake Field Program
June 11, 2026Critical Resources (ASX:CRR) has completed a ten-day field program at the Corona Pegmatite Field and adjacent northern target areas of the 100%-owned Mavis Lake Lithium Project in Ontario, Canada.
The program included systematic prospecting, geological mapping, and structural data collection, with a total of 106 rock samples collected, 161 outcrop maps completed, and 74 structural measurements recorded.
Fourteen pegmatite bodies were identified during the program, including six pegmatites that had not previously been mapped. Assay results for the collected samples are pending and are expected within three to four weeks.
Highlights
- Ten-day field program completed at Corona Pegmatite Field and northern target areas.
- 106 rock samples collected, 161 outcrop maps created, 74 structural measurements recorded.
- 14 pegmatite bodies identified, including six previously unmapped pegmatites.
- Coarse-grained and evolved pegmatites identified south of the Northern target area.
- Pending assay results will inform drill targeting as part of the 2026 Northern Prospects exploration program.
The Corona Pegmatite Field is located approximately four kilometres north of the Mavis Lake Main Zone Mineral Resource of 8.0 Mt at 1.07% Li₂O.
The field program covered areas surrounding historical drill collars, previously identified pegmatites, and additional zones generated from existing datasets.
Coarse, well-developed pegmatites were identified south of the Northern target area as a potential follow-up target for future exploration.
The identified pegmatites lie within the interpreted Spodumene-Beryl-Tantalite zonation corridor. Outcrop exposure across the area is limited by overburden and wetland cover.
Critical Resources’ Managing Director, Tim Wither, commented,
“The northern corridor at Mavis Lake is significantly underexplored relative to the scale of the Mavis Lake LCT pegmatite system. This program has confirmed that — 14 pegmatite bodies identified, six of them new, across ground that had not been systematically prospected. With assay results due in three to four weeks, we will have the geochemical data to rank these targets and confirm our highest-priority drill locations”.
The field program forms part of Critical Resources’ 2026 Northern Prospects exploration strategy, which includes multiple targets such as Gullwing, Tot, Little Wing, Coates, Drope, and the Corona Pegmatite Field.
The Gullwing Pegmatite is reported with an Exploration Target of 7–10 Mt at 0.3–1.2% Li₂O, a surface width of approximately 80 metres, and strike of approximately 500 metres.
The field data collected will be integrated with existing geological, geochemical, and geophysical datasets to rank and prioritise drill targets across the northern corridor.
The Mavis Lake Lithium Project, located approximately 19 kilometres east-northeast of Dryden, Ontario, has a current Inferred Mineral Resource at the Main Zone of 8.0 Mt at 1.07% Li₂O.
The project area has a broader Northern Prospects corridor, which includes multiple pegmatites and targets that remain underexplored.
The results from the completed field program will inform the 2026 Northern Prospects drilling campaign and advance the evaluation of the multi-deposit lithium district at Mavis Lake.
