
Balkan (ASX:BMM) hasten on George Lake lithium promise
October 6, 2022Balkan Mining and Minerals has launched into priority exploration of up to 6.8 per cent lithium (Li2O)at the Gorge Lithium exploration project located in Canada’s emerging Thunder Bay North Mining District of Ontario in Canada.
Surface trenching will provide valuable geological observations of the pegmatites where indicative rock samples showed values above 3.78%, with the two highest results returned at 5.75% and 6.80%.

The Thunder Bay region of Ontario has been the focus of lithium pegmatite exploration works with the delineation of hard rock lithium deposits, including Rock Tech Lithium Inc’s Georgia Lake project in 2021 and Imagine Lithium Inc’s (TSX.V ILI) Jackpot Lithium project and works carried out by Ultra Lithium Inc (TSX.V-ULT) Georgia Lake and Forgan Lake Projects, to name a few.
The Company has commenced mapping and sampling the entire project area. This is planned to be followed by trenching and soil analysis.

Subject to favourable results, BMM intends on drilling throughout the fall and winter as the appropriate drilling targets are identified.
