Westar’s (ASX: WSI) Alltype adds $33m to Lynas book

WestStar Industrial-owned Alltype Engineering will erect the Feed Hood building and Stack Support tower at Lynas’s Rare Earths Processing Facility in Kalgoorlie which will treat rare earth concentrate from its Mt Weld mine.

The additional $33 million package adds to its current scope, including the fabrication and erection of the Venturi & Scrubber building, Spray Tower and WESP building.

Fabrication and erection of stainless steel ductwork, erection of fibreglass reinforced plastic (FRP) ductwork, and Installation of mechanical equipment, including pumps, horizontal agitators, fans, heat exchangers, and the overhead crane, will be carried out by the Company as part of the works.

The Company said the contract further bolsters and contributes to the WestStar FY2023 order book and aligns with Alltype Engineering’s strategic plan to focus and deliver on significant turnkey construction projects.

“Our project team has done a fantastic job on the rotary kiln project to date, and we appreciate Lynas’ recognition of this performance and the positive collaboration between our companies, who are both focused on safe and efficient construction of this critical process plant infrastructure,” Alltype Engineering’s Managing Director, Kelvin Andrijich said.

This new award brings WestStar’s FY2023 consolidated Group contracted revenue to about $120M.

Scope of Work

Lynas’ new Rare Earths Processing Facility in Kalgoorlie will treat rare earth concentrate from its Mt Weld mine to produce a mixed rare earth carbonate that is packaged and transported to Fremantle Port for export to the Lynas Malaysia advanced materials plant in Gebeng, Malaysia, for further processing.
