Voltaic (ASX:VSR) confirms primary gold in metal-rich Murchison

Voltaic Strategic Resources’ reconnaissance over its Meekatharra project has validated a gold endowment at its underexplored end of the continually productive Murchison region of Western Australia.

Rock chips of up to 1.5 grams per tonne gold confirmed primary mineralisation across a quartz vein structural trend stretching across more than 150 metres of strike.

Voltaic believes the results highlight the ground’s prospectivity and beg for a detailed follow-up coming fresh off a $12 million farm-in deal with Delta Lithium to explore its Ti Tree asset in the Gascoyne.

Voltaic Chief Executive Michael Walsh said given the ground’s location in one of the nation’s most endowed gold belts, the project represents a significant component of its portfolio.

“We are excited by the initial findings from our recent explorative efforts, which reinforce the project’s potential for hosting significant mineral deposits,” Walshe said.

“Our strategic approach is set to unravel the untapped value of this region, and we look forward to keeping our shareholders updated as we progress.”

The junior explorer now has a near-term ambition to discover gold mineralisation in the project’s northern extension of the Burnakura shear zone and its associated extensions.

The shear zone is linked to a north-northeast trending fault of regional scale and extends fully across Voltaic’s tenements, where it has never been drilled beneath 100 metres.

High-resolution gravity surveys, which have proven successful in detecting the region’s mineralised structures, are now the next step to discoveries as Voltaic sizes up its prospects with a full bank account.

The Delta deal left the company with about $7.25 million in the kitty to pay for exploration at Meektharra and its Paddy’s Well rare earth asset while looking out for a new tentpole.

The aim is to secure an already advanced stage project with a clear route to near-term development while taking in the efforts of a busy Delta exploration team at Ti Tree.

And looking for gold discoveries in the heart of a province with 35 million ounces of production to its name will make for a fine pastime as prices continue to flirt with new record highs.
