Forrestania (ASX:FRS) extend lithium at South Iron Cap East

Forrestania (ASX:FRS) extend lithium at South Iron Cap East

September 28, 2023 0 By Rueben Hale

Follow up drilling at the South Iron Cap East Prospect has intersected spodumene-bearing pegmatite in multiple drill holes as Forrestania Resources continue to home in on ore-grade mineralisation at its namesake project.

The results extended lithium mineralisation at the prospect, with the pegmatite remaining open down dip and along strike.

Forrestania Managing Director Michael Anderson said the company’s work across South Iron Cap East had continued to deliver results highlighting the potential for a significant mineralised system.

“We know the region is host to multiple, stacked pegmatites (including at the world-class Mount Holland Lithium Mine) and we are now consistently finding spodumene and highly anomalous lithium-grades,” Mr Anderson said.

“We remain convinced of the prospectivity across the Forrestania project and believe that a continuation of our systematic approach will ultimately unlock the potential value for our shareholders.”

The small six-hole follow up campaign intercepted the same pegmatite body in all drill holes, returning consistent occurrences of visible spodumene and the confirmation of anomalous lithium.

The intercepts sit just around a kilometre away from a 50m @ 0.95% Li2O strike on IGO’s neighbouring tenements, and not much further away from the world class Mt Holland Lithium mine on its way to development.

Further work is underway to optimise the next round of drilling at Forrestania as the company continues to explore for lithium, gold, and nickel from its Western Australian base all the way to James Bay in Canada.
