Burley (ASX:BUR) put the diamond drill to Chubb Lithium
April 6, 2023After concluding its acquisition of Chubb Lithium, Burley Minerals have put the drill into its strategically placed project in the heart of the Abitibi Lithium Hub in a world-class Quebec Province rapidly emerging as a leader in the North American continent’s battery metal industry.
The explorer is rising in tune with the region, beginning its initial diamond-core campaign for around 5000 metres of drilling as it moves on fully acquiring the Bouvier Project, neighbouring both Chubb and refired operations at the province’s sole concentrator.
Burley Managing Director Wayne Richards said the immediate focus is to confirm mineralisation location and strike direction, width, depth and the number of parallel dykes that could persist within the mineralised area, with additional drill testing of the extensions of known spodumene mineralisation.
“The drilling program is designed to confirm, expand and extend spodumene lithium mineralisation, confirmed over the last two years of initial diamond core drilling,” he said.
“The ‘Main’ spodumene target consists of at least five parallel stacked lithium bearing spodumene dykes which remain open in both directions along strike and at depth.
“With recent exploration success in Quebec by fellow ASX- listed lithium exploration and development
Companies in the James Bay region and the finalisation of commissioning at the Northern American Lithium Project located 10 km directly NW of the Chubb Project tenements, we look forward to progressing this drilling campaign in this much sort-after area of lithium bearing spodumene pegmatites.”
The clearing permits and drill pad preparations for the initial pads have been ticked off, and metallurgical test work, core-cutting and analyses contracts are signed as Burley fires up the drill and awaits receipt of core samples.
