Burley (ASX:BUR) crack into Chubb North

Burley (ASX:BUR) crack into Chubb North

Burley Minerals has identified new targets and spun up more diamond drilling as it awaits the assays from more than 7800 metres using the diamond bit at its Chubb Lithium Project in Canada’s Quebec province.

Geochemical analysis of outcrops pointed towards more potential of lithium fertility at Chubb North and an Ambient Noise Tomography survey located multiple sub-surface structural targets which could represent buried pegmatites to the northeast and south of the Central zone.

This preliminary drilling program at Chubb North is directed at building understanding of pegmatite structures and to confirm pathfinder and spodumene mineralisation while Burley plots a campaign over new areas representing an extension of the mineralised zone and potential emplacement sites for LCT pegmatites.

Burley Managing Director and CEO Stewart McCallion said the company’s exploration team was excited at the prospect of additional spodumene at the previously undrilled prospect.

“Following analysis of the geochemistry and mapping over the sizeable pegmatite outcrop, the Burley team in Val d’Or, Québec expedited the initial drilling permits and now the diamond drilling rig is in place and making good progress. I am looking forward to seeing the results,” Mr McCallion said.

Mr McCallion added that after completing a large amount of infill and extensional drilling at Chubb Central, Burley would take the time for a review to determine targets and further expand the known spodumene zone.

“We are very encouraged about the new targets which have opened a large, undrilled areas at Chubb North and at Chubb Central. Our team continues to successfully progress this highly prospective project, in the Tier 1 lithium province of Québec, Canada,” he said.

“As we have moved into Chubb North, this will be only the third of the 35 claims we have drilled at the Chubb Lithium Project, located in close proximity to Quebec’s major mining community, Val d’Or.”
