Warriedar Resources (ASX:WA8) confirms high grade antimony at Azure Coast, unlocking broader critical minerals potential
July 3, 2025Warriedar Resources (ASX: WA8) has confirmed high grade antimony mineralisation at the Azure Coast deposit group, located just four kilometres south of the company’s flagship Ricciardo deposit at the Golden Range Project in Western Australia.
Using a low cost pulp re assay program targeting historical reverse circulation drill samples, the company identified multiple high grade intercepts within primary sulphide zones beneath the historical gold workings.
This breakthrough not only validates the company’s broader multi commodity strategy but also highlights the untapped value that can be realised through systematic multi element analysis across underexplored datasets.
To provide more insight, Managing Director Amanda Buckingham answers five key investor questions on the significance of this update, how it fits into Warriedar’sstrategy, and what lies ahead.
What is the significance of finding high grade antimony at Azure Coast?
The confirmation of high grade antimony mineralisation at Azure Coast is a major step forward for Warriedar and it shows that the antimony potential at Golden Range is not isolated to Ricciardo.
These latest results came from a small scale re assay program and included standout intervals such as 8 metres at 1.73 percent antimony including 1 metre at 9.85 percent.
“Once again, the assaying of historic pulps for antimony at Golden Range has delivered excellent preliminary news. This super low cost technique previously allowed us to comprehend, and then quantify, the magnitude of the starting antimony opportunity at our flagship Ricciardo deposit, resulting in delineation of the largest open pit antimony resource on a granted ML in Australia.”
Importantly, the antimony appears in primary sulphide zones beneath shallow gold mineralisation, which were not adequately tested in historical drilling.
The discovery confirms that antimony is present in multiple locations along the Golden Range shear, opening the door to a much broader critical minerals footprint than previously recognised.
Why is this pulp re assay program considered valuable despite being limited in scale?
This approach is all about extracting value from what already exists.
The trial covered just 13 historical holes and around 1000 samples, yet it returned several high quality intercepts. Because the samples were already drilled and stored on site, the cost was minimal, but the geological insights were substantial.
“These initial results from the nearby Azure Coast deposit group show further promise. What is particularly noteworthy is that historical drilling in this area is likely insufficiently deep to have identified the true potential magnitude of the antimony dominant zone.”
The success of this method is not new to us.
We used it at Ricciardo and were able to define over 60000 tonnes of contained antimony without drilling a single new antimony specific hole.
The same opportunity exists at Azure Coast, with only 286 of the roughly 2500 historical holes have ever been assayed for antimony, and that is a huge amount of untested potential.
How does Azure Coast compare to Ricciardo geologically and strategically?
From a geological perspective, Azure Coast and Ricciardo are closely related.
Both lie along the Mougooderra Shear and are hosted within altered ultramafic rocks, which are favourable for both gold and antimony mineralisation.
The key difference is that Ricciardo had deeper legacy drilling, which gave us an early look at its sulphide zones.
Azure Coast, on the other hand, was historically only drilled to shallow depths, often stopping around 120 metres.
This means the deeper, more prospective zones were largely missed.
Strategically, this gives us a clear path forward. Azure Coast already has a defined gold resource of 74000 ounces, but with deeper drilling and more multi element assays, it could follow a similar trajectory to Ricciardo.
It has the right structure, the right host rocks, and now confirmed antimony.
What is the market outlook for antimony, and why is Warriedar focusing on it now?
Antimony is gaining significant attention because it is classed as a critical mineral in Australia, the United States, Europe and Japan.
It is used in defence, electronics, and energy storage, and has very limited global supply outside of China, which produces nearly half the world’s supply.
Recent export restrictions from China have had a major impact on pricing.
Since April 2024, antimony prices have increased more than fourfold, rising from about 13000 US dollars per tonne to over 59000 US dollars per tonne by June 2025.
Warriedar is not shifting away from gold. Instead, we are capitalising on the fact that our geology gives us both.
Having two critical commodities in one system increases our optionality and strengthens our position in a changing global market.
What are the next steps for advancing Azure Coast and building on these results?
We are gearing up to return to Azure Coast later this quarter for a dedicated gold and antimony drilling program.
This will be the first time we have drilled specifically into the deeper sulphide zones identified through the re assay work and prior scout drilling.
“We are also excited to be returning to Azure Coast later this quarter to undertake both gold and antimony focussed extensional drilling.”
We are also planning to expand the pulp re assay work across more of the Azure Coast group.
This has proven to be a fast and effective method of generating targets and we believe there is considerable upside still to be realised.
Meanwhile, drilling continues at Ricciardo, focused on extending our high grade zones and adding further tonnes to the gold and antimony resource base.
“These assay results critically further confirm that the presence of antimony (Sb) mineralisation at the Golden Range Project extends beyond just the flagship Ricciardo deposit, opening up the entire belt.”
Building momentum along the Golden Range Belt
The Azure Coast re assay results mark another successful step in Warriedar Resources systematic approach to unlocking value from both gold and critical minerals.
By leveraging cost efficient techniques, smart targeting, and deep geological knowledge, the company is building a pipeline of growth opportunities across its flagship Golden Range Project.
With drilling now advancing at both Ricciardo and Azure Coast, and antimony confirmed in multiple locations along the shear zone, Warriedar is well placed to expand its resource base and align with the rising demand for secure supply of critical minerals.
