Voltaic (ASX:VSR) wrap up Phase 3 at Ti Tree

Voltaic (ASX:VSR) wrap up Phase 3 at Ti Tree

September 13, 2023 0 By Tom Duggan

Voltaic Strategic Resources have completed Phase 3 drilling over high-priority lithium prospects at its fully owned Ti Tree Project in the West Australian Gascoyne.

Several thick and stacked pegmatites were intercepted across three prospects, confirming a widespread presence across the project.

The 3100 metres of RC drilling directed at testing near surface extents of outcropping pegmatites at Morpheus and Akira returned maximum widths of 34 and 15 metres respectively.

And down-dip deeper drilling at Andrada aimed at delineating bounding lithological contacts and examining untested potential LCT plunge areas hit thicker, returning a maximum pegmatite width of 117 metres.

Voltaic Chief Executive Michael Walshe said the company is advancing rapidly through systemic exploration and continued to gain greater understanding of a major emerging pegmatite system and controls on mineralisation.

“We have drilled deeper in this third drill phase compared to previous campaigns allowing us to thoroughly examine the extents of the pegmatite swarms at each prospect and potentially vector to mineralisation at depth and under cover,” Mr Walshe said.

“Additionally, mapping has identified several new areas of outcropping pegmatite swarms which we will soon follow up with soil surveying and potential future drilling.”

Mr Walshe added that Voltaic’s next focus will on Ti Tree North, sitting nearby Delta Lithium’s Jameson lithium pegmatite discovery which has returned early rock chip assays up to 4.2 per cent lithium oxide.

“Investors can expect steady news flow from the Ti Tree project over the coming months, with regular drilling updates and assay results to be released as available as we systematically advance through testing of the 18 priority target areas within the large tenement package,” he said.

Growing the Gascoyne

Assays from both Phase 2 and 3 are expected to begin flowing in from mid-October while Voltaic continue to generate targets for the next round across the project, with mapping, sampling, and surveys all underway to quickly assess target areas.

Voltaic is growing Ti Tree in tune with a Gascoyne province which remains one of Western Australia’s more underexplored areas but has continued to reveal lofty potential for both lithium and rare earths.

Two of the state’s most prominent lithium players, Tim Goyder and former Liontown Managing Director David Richards, have been building up a large collection of territory under Minerals 260 in the area, and several major players have been drawn to its rare earth potential.

Voltaic has both commodities covered in the region, both at Ti Tree and its Paddys Well rare earth project, where recent multiple thick intercepts and high metallurgical recoveries have significantly raised the prospects for large-scale, open pit mining.
