Voltaic (ASX:VSR) put the drill to Ti Tree lithium
May 3, 2023Voltaic Strategic Resources’ maiden drilling is set to finally unwrap a series of prime lithium-caesium-tantalum targets at its Ti Tree project in Western Australia’s emerging Gascoyne region.
Its first pass campaign has followed months of backbreaking work in the oppressive heat of the Gascoyne summer to prove what has turned out to be compelling lithium-bearing geology across the entire project.
Mapping has outlined multiple pegmatite targets at surface, which will be the priority of VSR’s 1250-metre RC interrogations of the area.
Excitingly, all the targets sit within a proven belt containing lithium-bearing pegmatites hosting Delta Lithium’s Yinnietharra Project, where drilling has struck a thick 56m @ 1.12% lithium oxide intercept amid a half dozen more regional intercepts above the 1% benchmark – spurring no less than 90,000 metres of drilling.
After drilling into a regional-scale rare earth opportunity at Paddy’s Well earlier this year, Voltaic Chief Executive Michael Walshe said it was great to have embarked on another maiden campaign so soon after listing.
“We have a substantial amount of pegmatite outcrop across the project and are using the drill bit as the most effective exploration tool to further unlock the regional geological puzzle as we vector towards a discovery,” Mr Walshe said.
“With several hundred pegmatites identified to date and over 200km2 of highly prospective ground
to explore, it is imperative to understand the structural controls, host rock setting and zonation
features that are unique to the regional pegmatites at Ti Tree”.“Concurrently, our surface exploration continues along the most prospective lithological schists associated with the Volta Corridor “Goldilocks Zone”, and we will soon undertake a number of
surveys including: airborne magnetics / radiometrics, photogrammetry, and gravity. This should
significantly increase our number of drill targets at Ti Tree, from the already identified ~30, and will
yield several months of active exploration news flow.”
And Voltaic had already set the stage for discovery in the Gascoyne, with early exploration and metallurgy at Paddy’s Well striking early rare earth success in a region fast becoming one of the most prospective regions in Australia for new discoveries of critical minerals.
