Summit (ASX:SUM) take first look at Ahmed Antimony

Summit Minerals will shape exploration for the top-of-the-list critical mineral at its Ahmed Antimony acquisition with its technical team in the Morrocco.

Antimony is in high demand for its versatility in the electronics, construction, and automotive industries. Australia considers it the most critical mineral due to its exceptional properties, leading to an anticipated surge in demand.

Antimony

Antimony is regarded as Australia’s most critical mineral

Geological mapping and rock chip sampling will map the primary source of high-grade antimony on the largely untouched ground, casting light on the extent of mineralisation at Ahmed.

Summit Managing Director Jonathan King said the fieldwork would help to refine drill targets and provide the
the framework within which more expansive exploration will develop.

The field teams’ immediate focus is on the known mineralisation identified through the historical trenches and workings within the RC and diamond drilling.

“I’m very pleased to get boots on the ground to kick off our maiden field program in Morocco.
Our team focuses on identifying and confirming the key trends and extensions
to the known mineralisation at Ahmed,” Mr King said.

Mr King expressed high levels of confidence in the team’s findings, stating that they are likely to lead to the creation of a well-structured exploration plan.

“This plan is expected to include drilling, which is crucial to the project’s success,” he added.

Proposed Field Program

The analysis includes 179 sediment samples for antimony, using LiDAR and aerial imagery to find exploration areas. LiDAR data will reveal the topography and locate unknown workings, guiding future exploration programs, including geophysical surveys and drilling.

Next Steps

The field program will end in mid-June, and Ashgill Morocco will oversee it with guidance from Summit’s technical team. Results will be made public after analysis.
