Star Minerals (ASX:SMS) confirms rising Star of the East

Star Minerals (ASX:SMS) confirms rising Star of the East

November 15, 2022 0 By Rueben Hale

Star Minerals has confirmed 14 meters of gold at 8.3g/t from its reconnaissance gold drilling campaign at its Star of the East project in Western Australia’s historic Murchison Region.

The Company said the high-grade gold assay results,  including an instance of 14.2g/t over 8m, confirm the interpretation of geology and broad, shallow gold intercepts at the project, which is under option.

Project location

Star of the East location, part of the Tumblegum South Project area.

“We are satisfied to have completed this first program and received these fantastic gold results. The assays confirm our initial assessment of Star of the East and further support our decision to sign the option agreement to gain access to this gold deposit,” CEO Greg Almond said.

“The assays and geological logging provide further information that confirms some of our theories around the historic mining and mineralisation at Star of the East and encourages our future works to identify more gold mineralisation at this landmark project.

“We are very pleased that this drilling shows gold mineralisation very close to the surface, only 9m down-hole in some cases, which provides plenty of encouragement to the Company as we continue working on this project.”

Price Action

The Company’s ASX-listed shares are 6.9c at Market Open.

Next Steps

Further drilling programs are planned once further data collection, analysis and review are completed.
