Rincon Resources (ASX:RCR) unveils significant copper and rare earth discoveries at West Arunta

Rincon Resources (ASX:RCR) has delivered a promising update on its West Arunta Project in Western Australia, presenting significant results from copper and rare earth element (REE) exploration.

The results hint at the potential for a substantial multi-million tonne copper resource, bolstered by rare earth element findings that highlight the region’s geological richness.

The Pokali East target has been a focal point of interest, with five reverse circulation (RC) drill holes returning encouraging copper intercepts.

One notable hole, 24WARC026, intercepted 212 metres at 0.23% copper from just 2 metres deep, while hole 24WARC028 returned 4 metres at 3.87% copper along with gold, silver, bismuth, and cobalt credits from 48 metres.

Rincon Resources Managing Director Gary Harvey expressed optimism about the potential scale of the resource, stating, “The twinning of several historic holes and two untested locations at Pokali East has provided valuable QAQC data for future resource modelling.”

Harvey added that these results also bolster the company’s IOCG (iron oxide copper gold) mineralisation model, essential for further mapping and deep targeting.

Aside from copper, Rincon has uncovered valuable Total Rare Earth Oxide (TREO) mineralisation at Sheoak and K2, which could be linked to a significant syenite intrusion complex.

Drilling at Sheoak revealed 6 metres at 3,223 ppm TREO from 14 metres, while K2 returned 8 metres at 1,397 ppm TREO from 118 metres, with key elements like cerium, neodymium, and praseodymium showing high values.

Harvey noted the importance of these REE results, suggesting that the mineralisation could be linked to the major syenite intrusive complex. “The discovery of significant TREO mineralisation at Sheoak and K2.. is highly significant because syenites can host significant REE deposits.”

With additional assay results expected in the coming weeks, Rincon’s ongoing work at West Arunta could prove transformative for the company, potentially unlocking substantial copper and REE resources.

The evolving geological picture paints a compelling narrative for future exploration campaigns.
