Noronex (ASX:NRX) extends Kalahari copper horizon

October 5, 2023 0 By Amanda Ellis

Noronex drilling results have expanded the copper horizon of its wholly owned Fiesta project in the Namibian portion of the Kalahari Copper Belt.

The Noronex board reported a drill-hole 750m east of any previous intercept on the main Fiesta horizon had featured up to 0.44% copper and 12 grams per tonne silver.

The primary disseminated copper mineralisation had chalcocite as a dominant feature.

Intercepts from the hole included 5 metres at 0.44 % Cu and 12 gpt Ag (0.6% copper equivalent) from 233m, and 13m at 0.3% Cu and 8gpt Ag (0.4 % CuEq) from 253m.

Noronex Chief Geologist Bruce Hooper said the company’s Fiesta results had expanded the project’s target areas.

“Copper intercepts at significant step outs along extensions of the main Fiesta horizon is very encouraging for the potential size of the Fiesta copper system and greatly expands the target areas,” he said.

The latest reverse circulation drilling hole result was the sixth reported hole from an 11-hole campaign.

The first two holes included a thick copper and silver intercept of 45m at 1% copper equivalent.

Noronex’s Fiesta project is in the west of the company’s Humpback tenements.

Botswana mission

The company will now move its drill rig east to its Blowhole project, on 100% owned Noronex tenements near the Botswana border.

“We are now excited to be moving to the Botswana border targeting favourable structural settings for large deposits that have never been previously drilled,” Hooper said.

Five holes are to be drilled at Blowhole in a campaign expected to start this week.

Noronex expects to drill 4000 metres at Fiesta and Blowhole as part of its RC program.

The explorer intends to use its results for its future drill planning and exploration targeting efforts.
