MarketOpen is an online digital media and in person events business connecting companies and investors. Led by Managing Director Stewart Walters, the company was founded in Perth during the pandemic years by a small group of Western Australian investors with decades of experience in the Australian, British, Canadian and US markets, and the media industry.
Through its flagship MarketOpen.com.au and social media, MarketOpen cover breaking news on mining, oil and gas, technology and biotechnology companies listed on the Australian Securities Exchange and other markets. MarketOpen’s video and podcasting channels feature original interviews with Australia’s small-cap corporate leaders, while its Stock Soirée networking events and online Direct Connect webinars connect investors and brokers with company Managing Directors, CEO’s, and board members.
The publisher also offers a suite of agency services to its corporate members, including media, video, podcasting, webinar and social media services, along with writing, editing, reviewing and content creation services.

Stewart Walters is a former professional cricketer and assistant coach of Perth Scorchers & WA men’s cricket teams spanning 14 years. Most recently has worked in the small-caps industry in various capacities, including his current position as the Managing Director at MarketOpen and host of the company’s video interviews, Ticker Talk, MarketOpen podcast and Direct Connect webinar. His goal is to connect investors, brokers, and Australia's emerging companies through high quality, engaging, professional content and in person events.
Holly Walters is an accomplished professional with extensive management experience across diverse industries including marketing, communications, and both professional and Olympic sports. With a strong focus on the stock market and financial markets, Holly brings a unique blend of expertise as a communication and event specialist, making her a valuable asset to MarketOpen.
Holly’s drive for success was honed on the track as a professional 800m runner representing Australia. This elite athletic background has instilled in her a resilient and results-oriented mindset. Coupled with her qualifications in psychology, business management, events, and graphic design, Holly is uniquely equipped to help MarketOpen clients achieve prominence in the digital marketing and events space. Her well-rounded skill set, and competitive spirit position her to excel in the fast-paced world of stock market news and financial services.
Amanda Ellis is a company and copy consultant who writes about emerging resources and energy companies, writing and publishing. She has been a staff journalist with The West Australian, the Sunday Times, Kalgoorlie Miner and MiningNews. Amanda has undergraduate and postgraduate degrees in journalism, communications and marketing from the University of Western Australia, and a diploma in journalism and sub-editing from the British National Council for the Training of Journalists.
Riley Maring is a videographer, photographer and graphic designer who produces video and podcast interviews, photography, artwork and media productions. His productions help companies, corporate executives and industry professionals in the media, resources, energy and sports fields to share their stories.
