MTM move on Pt Kidman expansion
July 6, 2023As it moves on metallurgy at Pt Kidman, MTM Critical Metals has launched an expanded geochemical sampling program to extend the known mineralisation of its clay-hosted prospect within expansive East Laverton landholdings.
After high-grade assays up to 3,400ppm TREO stretched out mineralisation at the prospect, Pt Kidman now stands in an area of consistently mineralised envelopes covering 12 square kilometres, with thick intervals and heavy proportions of the more valuable rare earths presenting a large-scale opportunity.
MTM is not done expanding at the area, and Managing Director Lachlan Reynolds said soil sampling has proven an effective and rapid way to assess its territory for more rare earth anomalies.
“We expect the survey will generate new targets for drill testing within what we recognise as a district scale development of clay-hosted REE mineralisation,” Mr Reynolds said.
“Our exploration team has mobilised to Laverton and the sampling work has commenced on the ground. We look forward to providing shareholders with updates as the work progresses and results are received,” he added.
The company is plotting aircore drilling to test any new anomalies it might find from the program expected to be finished in four to six weeks, with final leach assay test results from metallurgical work expected this month.
