Maximus (ASX:MXR) discovers large lithium anomaly in Eastern Goldfields
January 16, 2024Maximus Resources has identified a large ~900-by-800-metre lithium-in-soil anomaly up to 593 ppm Li2O at its Larkinville Lithium Project near Kambalda in Western Australia.
According to the company the anomaly could host a substantial lithium-caesium-tantalum (LCT) pegmatite mineral system.
It comes after recent success at the Lefroy Lithium Project with spodumene-bearing pegmatites intersected during their initial scout drill program, which has further boosted their confidence in the potential of their tenements.
The Larkinville Lithium Project, which is jointly owned by Maximus Resources Limited (75%) and Develop Global Ltd (25%) (ASX:DVP), is located approximately 10km south of the Company’s Lefroy Lithium Project.
Excitingly, Larkinville is independent from Maximus’ $4.5M Lefroy Lithium Joint Venture with Korea Mine Rehabilitation and Mineral Resources Corporation.
Maximus Managing Director Tim Withers says the sizable anomaly at Larkinville has provided the company with another quality drill target for early 2024.
“The large lithium soil anomaly defined at Larkinville highlights the excellent prospectivity of Maximus’ tenements and builds upon our recent success at the Lefroy Lithium Project with spodumene-bearing pegmatites intersected during our initial scout drill program,” Mr Wither said.
