Maximus (ASX:MXR) chases high-grade lithium at Lefroy

Maximus Resources and its joint venture partner Korea Mine Rehabilitation and Mineral Resources Corporation are following its recent intersection of 2% Li2O at the Lefroy Lithium Project, part of its Lefroy tenements in Western Australia’s Eastern Goldfields

The partners planned 3000m drilling campaign will test a sequence of stacked shallow-dipping pegmatites, with widths ranging from 6 to 12 metres.

The 2km x 1km lithium soil contains numerous known outcropping pegmatites.

Maximus Managing Director Tim Wither said the promising 91m intersection containing up to 1.99% is an exciting benchmark.

“We are excited to commence the RC drill programme across the very promising Lefroy lithium target, in partnership with KOMIR,” Mr Wither said.

“Lefroy has had minimal drilling across the extensive lithium soil anomaly and numerous outcropping pegmatites.

“In parallel to the drill programme, a systematic soil sampling programme continues, highlighting further lithium-bearing pegmatites and building a pipeline of additional drill targets. ”

This RC drill programme consists of 30 holes for ~3,000m and is expected to take three weeks to complete, with assay results expected in 4-6 weeks following sample submission.
