Lefroy (ASX:LEX) confirms high grade 15kt nickel sulphide resource for Goodyear
August 23, 2023Lefroy Exploration has not disappointed with the news of its remarkable 14,780t nickel sulphide deposit (1% nickel cut-off grade) at its Goodyear project in Western Australia.
Based on CSA’s review, the deposit calculation shows a total Inferred Mineral Resource of 392,000 tonnes at a grade of 3.78% nickel.
There is high potential for discovering more nickel sulphides and Lefroy plans to drill and expand mineralisation boundaries in a 30 km ultramafic basal contact within the Carnilya dome.
“The seamless conversion of the Goodyear Nickel Deposit to JORC Code 2012 standards is an exciting development for Lefroy and our nickel-focused subsidiary, Hampton Metals Ltd,” Lefroy Managing Director Wade Johnson said.
According to Mr Johnson, the Goodyear Mineral Resource is a one-of-a-kind opportunity as it is on freehold title and has a 15-year ownership history with gold majors. Additionally, it adjoins our commanding Lefroy Gold Project.
“We now hold 30km of strike length of a key ultramafic unit, considered to be one of the most prospective geological settings for nickel sulphide discoveries, within what is one of the few unexplored parcels of land remaining in the Kalgoorlie-Kambalda region,” he said.
“With Hampton’s aim to be a key player in what is shaping up to be a new era of nickel exploration and production in the Kambalda district, we couldn’t be off to a better start.”
