HyTerra (ASX:HYT) boost hydrogen focused board
April 19, 2023HyTerra has further beefed up its board by adding former high-ranking Shell explorer Benjamin Mee as Executive Director.
The veteran of international energy and former Shell Exploration Manager for Deepwater Africa brings 23 years of global oil and gas experience, which will be used as the company seeks to prove the viability of extracting naturally occurring geologic hydrogen from its landmark well in Nebraska.
Mr Mee’s breadth of knowledge is impressive, delivering projects from exploration to production, on land and offshore, in a spread of global locations befitting an Ian Fleming novel.
At Shell, he was credited with numerous globally significant discoveries while taking on diverse roles, including corporate strategy and portfolio management. He successfully led teams across Australia, Russia, Egypt and several African Sub-Saharan countries.
Mr Mee says he will be directly involved in critical project decisions.
“Together we aim to build a competitive and sustainable natural hydrogen business that will play a role in creating a better future for customers and societies,” he said.
“With Project Geneva and our recently acquired leases in Kansas, HyTerra continues to develop a portfolio to meet this intent.”
HyTerra Non-Executive Chairman Russell Brimage said the company was pleased to have attracted someone of his calibre.
“His skill sets and experience will strengthen the composition of the Board and we are excited to have him taking a leading role in shaping the direction of the Company.”
It is, without doubt, a compelling opportunity for someone with a mind for developing solutions for complex resources and sustainable energy, with HyTerra sitting at the forefront for potentially limitless natural hydrogen.
