Helix (ASX:HLX) spot a stream of targets for Rochford Copper
May 4, 2023Helix Resources have brought in a bevy of new and upgraded targets alongside a high-priority Black Range Prospect to add to the Rochford Copper Trend project as it advances on adding hefty amounts of the red metal to a highly endowed Cobar Copper District in New South Wales.
An aggressive exploration push backs up a high-grade copper discovery at Helix’s Canbelego Main Lode with new deposits, providing a stream of solid regional targets as it keenly anticipates a resource upgrade from other high-grade strikes at the historic site.
$0.002Black Range could be the pick of the bunch, with a large and open 6km by 1.7km zone of significant copper-bismuth-indium-tin-tungsten anomalism host to historical workings and high-grade rock chips spotlighting the new prospect as a top priority.
Helix Managing Director Mike Rosenstreich said the team was animated to get on the ground to test the new targets, and the company was generating some fabulous data sets to be able to explore across a significant, strategic land position properly.
“We want to make fresh copper discoveries and the modern technology we are utilising such as the VTEM geophysical survey we flew in 2021 and this multi-element geochemical work is an incredible leap forward to previous methods employed in being able to ‘see’ below the cover and detect mineralisation,” Mr Rosentreich said.
“This report highlights sophisticated multi-element analysis to create a consistent regional scale geochemical data set which we can merge with geophysical and other information to identify new mineralised targets for drilling. Our methodical approach is designed to effectively test the ground and hopefully, generate new discoveries.
“As highlighted in our March Quarterly, we have around $7 million cash, which is a serious sum to get us well down a new discovery pathway. We plan for this report to be part of an ongoing series on progress to achieve that new discovery goal.”
Helixhase accelerated its regional discovery program, with a second auger rig and ground geophysical surveys beginning this month ahead of drill testing – andhase a new resource from the Canbelego Main Lode on track for the end of June.
