Askari Metals (ASX:AS2) confirms continuous polymetallic mineralisation at PS pegmatite target, Uis Project in Namibia

May 7, 2026 Off By MarketOpen

Askari Metals has reported results from its Phase I trenching program at the PS Pegmatite Target within its 100%-owned Uis Project in Namibia, with assay data confirming continuous polymetallic mineralisation across the pegmatite system and generating data to refine drill targeting.

The Uis Project is located adjacent to the operating Uis Tin Mine and within a well-established pegmatite belt, with the Phase I trenching program designed to systematically test high-priority targets and generate data to refine drill targeting.

Highlights

  • Phase I trenching confirms continuous polymetallic mineralisation across the PS pegmatite system.
  • Peak assay results include 6,670ppm Sn, 0.49% Li2O, 465ppm Ta, 2,020ppm Rb and 134ppm Cs.
  • Systematic trenching completed at ~40m spacing, providing a dataset to support drill targeting.
  • Main PS pegmatite exposed over ~260m at surface, with a parallel pegmatite extending ~140m.
  • Trenching results validate historical exploration and generate high-confidence drill targets.
  • Historic RC drilling returned intercepts including 4m @ 0.16% SnO2 and 4m @ 314ppm Ta2O5.
  • Additional assay results pending from the nearby K9 target, expected mid May 2026.

The Phase I trenching program was undertaken across four high-priority pegmatite targets within EPL 7345, including OP, PS, DP and K9, with trenching at the PS target completed at approximately 40m spacing across both the main pegmatite and a western parallel structure, intersecting mineralisation along strike and across the pegmatite and its western splay.

A total of 14 trenches were completed at the PS pegmatite target, resulting in 159 channel samples for laboratory analysis, with meterage varying from 0.4m to 2.2m and a combined 76m of pegmatite intersected.

The program builds on prior reconnaissance work, including mapping, surface sampling and limited scout drilling, while previous RC drilling returned lithium intercepts including 2m @ 0.35% Li2O, 2m @ 0.32% Li2O and 1m @ 0.45% Li2O.

The PS pegmatite comprises a main ~260m strike length with an associated ~140m satellite and splay pegmatite, with trenching confirming mineralisation across both structures.

Several trenches returned assays above 0.3% Li2O, exceeding the commonly adopted cut-off grade for low grade spodumene pegmatite, while tantalum mineralisation exceeding 80ppm Ta was reported across the main pegmatite, its splay and satellite pegmatites.

Askari Metals Executive Director Gino D’Anna said:

“Phase I trenching at the PS Pegmatite Target continues to build on the momentum achieved from the OP and DP trenching results, again confirming high-grade continuous polymetallic mineralisation across these targets at the Uis Project in Namibia. Mineralisation occurs along the entire pegmatite length and across its width with varying concentrations returning results of up to 6,670 ppm Sn, 0.49% Li2O, 465 ppm Ta, 2,020 ppm Rb and 134 ppm Cs. These results not only validate the previously limited exploration, they also generate robust, high-confidence drill targets.”

The program systematically tested these targets and intersected mineralisation along strike and across the pegmatite and its western splay.

The program was designed to systematically test these targets and generate data to refine drill targeting.
