Antilles (ASX:AAU) show the copper at El Pilar
October 31, 2023Antilles Gold’s latest diamond drill hole has broken through to outstanding copper intercepts at El Pilar, in central Cuba.
Drillhole PDH-45A has revealed some of the most intense porphyry-style mineralisation, with strong veining and stockwork, hosting large lengths of visual copper.
HOLE PDH 045A also shone with repeated high-grade copper intercepts, ranging from the upper horizon of the copper oxide zone to the end of the hole at 290m within the porphyry sulphide.
Antilles Gold’s Exploration Director Dr Christian Grainger said It’s a testament to the potential of this site and the exciting possibilities that lie ahead
“These encouraging intersections of copper mineralisation in sulphides, confirmed by the XRF readings, in the most southeastern parts of the El Pilar prospect give us great encouragement for the upcoming deeper drilling to target the porphyry body at depth,” Dr Grainger said.
“Given the drillhole terminated in mineralized porphyry in a fault zone, the copper mineralised porphyry remains open at depth and this is what we will be targeting in the short term.”
