Critical Resources (ASX:CRR) targets new drill opportunities at Corona Pegmatite Field

Critical Resources (ASX:CRR) targets new drill opportunities at Corona Pegmatite Field

May 13, 2026 Off By MarketOpen

Critical Resources has commenced a field exploration program at the Corona Pegmatite Field, located approximately 4km north of the Mavis Lake Lithium Deposit in Ontario, Canada, with the goal of generating high priority drill targets within the same corridor that hosts its existing Mineral Resource.

The campaign targets an underexplored section of the broader Mavis Lake trend and forms part of the company’s planned 2026 exploration program.

Highlights

  • Field crews have mobilised to the Corona Pegmatite Field and systematic prospecting is underway
  • Corona sits within the same LCT pegmatite corridor that hosts Critical Resources’ current 8.0Mt at 1.07% Li₂O Mineral Resource
  • The target area covers an interpreted ~5km strike length that has been subjected to minimal modern lithium focused exploration
  • Surface mapping has identified pegmatite bodies up to ~70m wide across the target area
  • Geochemical results are anticipated approximately three to four weeks after field completion

Critical Resources said the Corona target represents a significant resource expansion opportunity within the same LCT pegmatite corridor as its current Mineral Resource at Mavis Lake and sits within the interpreted spodumene beryl tantalite zonation corridor, where surface mapping has traced pegmatite bodies across the area.

The company also noted that limited outcrop exposure due to overburden and wetland cover has supported the need for further systematic fieldwork.

The current program will focus on systematic prospecting and outcrop mapping across the Corona Pegmatite Field, supported by geochemistry sampling, lithogeochemistry, LIBS based pegmatite fractionation and high resolution aeromagnetic data, which Critical Resources said has been used to prioritise target areas across the broader trend ahead of future drilling.

Critical Resources Managing Director Tim Wither said Corona could play an important role within the company’s broader northern exploration strategy.

“Mavis Lake has the potential to evolve from a single deposit asset into a multi deposit lithium district. Corona has the potential to be a key part of that story.”

The Corona program is being advanced alongside the company’s planned 2026 exploration program at Gullwing, which carries an Exploration Target of 7Mt to 10Mt at 0.3% to 1.2% Li₂O.

The broader Mavis Lake Project also hosts a Project Exploration Target of 18Mt to 29Mt at 0.8% to 1.2% Li₂O, alongside additional regional targets including Tot, Little Wing, Coates and Drope.

Separately, Critical Resources said it continues to advance its mine to market strategy through its solid state battery evaluation program and thermal management technology initiatives alongside exploration activities at Mavis Lake.

The current field program is expected to take approximately two weeks to complete, with geochemical results anticipated approximately three to four weeks after completion as Critical Resources works to define drill ready targets across the Corona Pegmatite Field as part of its planned 2026 Northern Prospects exploration campaign.
