Nelson Resources (ASX: NES) outlines scale potential at Gold Point following high grade intrusion hosted gold silver results

Nelson Resources Non Executive Chairman Gernot Abl spoke to MarketOpen to answer key investor questions on the Company’s latest high grade gold silver rock chip results at the Gold Point Project in Nevada, including intrusion hosted mineralisation identified within the Sylvania Intrusive Complex, the extension of mineralisation beyond historic workings and the planned pathway toward a maiden drilling program in Q2.

How do the 15.1g/t Au and 357g/t Ag intrusion hosted results reshape your view of Gold Point’s potential?

The recent rock chip sampling has confirmed the presence of high grade intrusion hosted and related gold silver mineralisation within the Sylvania Intrusive Complex, with sheeted quartz veins and stockwork zones returning up to 15.1g/t Au and 32.4g/t Ag and 13.8g/t Au and 357g/t Ag.

Importantly, these mineralisation styles have not been subject to any modern day exploration, and multiple gold silver quartz veins grading over 3g/t Au have now been identified within granitic rocks of the intrusive complex, which highlights exploration potential well beyond the historically mined high grade vein systems and supports our interpretation of a large scale, aerially extensive magmatic hydrothermal system at Gold Point.

What does mineralisation identified 2.5km from historic workings indicate about the scale of the system?

The results confirm that the Sylvania Intrusive Complex hosts high grade gold silver mineralisation over 2.5km southwest of the historic mines at Orleans, Grand Central and Great Western. This demonstrates that Au-Ag mineralisation extends significantly beyond the known high grade workings that were historically mined.

This spatial extension provides additional scale to the re-emerging Gold Point District and reinforces the broader potential of the Project area.

How does the identification of skarn, stockwork and sheeted veins influence your targeting strategy?

In addition to quartz stockwork and sheeted veins within the intrusion, we have identified gold andsilver rich skarn mineralisation along the contact between the Sylvania Intrusive Complex and the Wyman Formation, with results including 1.73g/t Au and 139g/t Ag and 1.20g/t Au and 34.7g/t Ag.

The recognition of multiple mineralisation styles confirms several components of a magmatic hydrothermal system that have not been evaluated by previous explorers, and this guides our strategy toward both understanding the potential scale within the immediate historic mine environments and progressing follow up prospecting across the broader claim package.

How does earning up to 90% of the 31km² Gold Point Project support your long term strategy?

We have executed an agreement to earn up to a 90% interest in the Gold Point Project, which covers 31km² in Nevada and is located near the historic mining town of Gold Point within a district that has reported over 40Moz Au within a 90km radius.

Reported production at Gold Point is approximately 75koz Au at an average grade of 20 to 30g/t, largely produced from four of fifteen currently mapped high grade gold-silver veins. Securing the right to earn up to a 90% interest allows us to systematically evaluate both the historic vein systems and the newly recognised intrusion related mineralisation styles across the Project area.

What are the key milestones ahead of the maiden drilling program in Q2?

Field teams are preparing to mobilise to commence geophysical surveys and detailed mapping aimed at refining priority drill targets ahead of a maiden drilling program in Q2.

Planned work includes underground multi-spectral and LiDAR surveys, systematic channel sampling and multi element geochemical analysis, magnetics and potentially induced polarisation to map mineralisation down dip and along strike.Surface geological and structural mapping with multi element geochemical rock chip sampling is also commencing.

These datasets are to be integrated into a mine scale 3D structural and lithogeochemical model to better define priority drill targets within the Orleans and Great Western vein systems and across the broader claim package.

Advancing toward drill testing

With high grade intrusion hosted and skarn mineralisation now confirmed and mineralisation identified over 2.5km from historic workings, Nelson Resources is progressing toward systematic drill testing across the Gold Point Project.

The integration of geophysics, geochemistry and detailed mapping into a mine scale 3D model is intended to refine priority targets as the Company advances toward its maiden drilling program in Q2, marking the next stage in evaluating the scale of the Gold Point system.
