Panther Metals (ASX:PNT) strikes maiden high-grade gold resource at Burtville East

Panther Metals (ASX:PNT) has chalked up a maiden resource at its Burtville East project within Western Australia’s Laverton district, underscoring the potential for a shallow, high-grade starter operation in one of the country’s most active gold corridors.

Highlights

  • Maiden Mineral Resource Estimate: 62,000 tonnes at 4.24g/t Au for 8,400oz.

  • Scoping Study underway to assess the viability of an open-pit operation.

  • High-grade 2025 intercepts include 6m at 11.99g/t Au from 28m and 11m at 7.72g/t Au from 27m.

  • Metallurgical testwork of drilling and historic stockpiles in progress, results due next quarter.

  • Shallow drilling at Rainier confirms an additional mineralised ultramafic system within the Laverton Gold Project.

The Laverton Greenstone Belt has long been a playground for mid-tier producers, and Panther Metals maiden JORC-compliant estimate of 62,000 tonnes grading 4.24 grams a tonne for 8,400 ounces adds another string to the region’s bow.

While modest in scale, the near-surface nature of the resource modelled to a depth of just 90 metres, suggests the potential for a low-capex, high-grade open pit to act as a gateway for broader development.

The company’s internal review has already flagged this pathway, with a formal Scoping Study now initiated.

Drilling has revealed multiple zones of coarse-grained, vein-hosted gold.

Recent intercepts include standout results of 6 metres at 11.99g/t gold from 28 metres, including 3 metres at 22.35g/t, as well as 11 metres at 7.72g/t from 27 metres, with peak grades exceeding 35g/t.

Metallurgical testing is advancing on both RC drilling samples and historic stockpiles, some of which returned grab samples up to 27.2g/t gold.

These studies are expected to guide development options, with outcomes anticipated in the next quarter.

At the Rainier prospect, located within the same 35-kilometre project corridor, shallow drilling confirmed mineralisation consistent with historic Newmont results.

The finding strengthens Panther’s belief in the presence of a parallel ultramafic-hosted gold system to the east.

“Exploration across our Laverton Gold Project continues to deliver, this time with a maiden high-grade Resource at Burtville East. This new shallow MRE, within trucking distance of multiple gold processing plants, highlights the quality of the mineralisation and the strong growth potential of Burtville East and the greater LGP area,” said managing director and CEO Daniel Tuffin.

Looking ahead, the combination of defined ounces at surface, open extensions at depth, and satellite discoveries across the Laverton project area provides Panther with a springboard into potential near-term production.

With larger operators such as Genesis Minerals consolidating ground nearby, Panther’s 35-kilometre Laverton footprint appears strategically placed within an increasingly competitive neighbourhood.
