White Cliff Minerals (ASX:WCN) unveils copper bonanza: Rae Project hits over 50% copper in stunning assays
October 14, 2024White Cliff Minerals (ASX:WCN) Rae Copper Project continues to prove its potential, with the latest batch of assays from the 2024 field program underscoring the project’s robust copper prospectivity.
Set in the remote and rugged terrains of Nunavut, Canada, the Rae Project is emerging as a significant player in the global copper scene.
The highlights of the final assays are impressive, with multiple rock chip samples from the Rocket and Thor districts returning copper grades exceeding 50%.
The highest assays recorded include a stunning 54.12% copper with 14 g/t silver at the Rocket district, along with other equally notable results such as 53.82% copper and 27 g/t silver.
Notably, more than half of the samples returned grades above 20% copper.
In the words of White Cliff Minerals Managing Director, Troy Whittaker, “The Rae Project continues to reinforce its potential with another set of very encouraging results. Similar to Vision, these newly confirmed areas at Rocket and Thor have delivered extraordinary and extensive copper grades across what is now a very large overall area”.
The Rocket district, particularly the Cu-TAR occurrence, revealed three parallel chalcocite-dominant vein systems with a strike length exceeding 380 metres.
This discovery confirms that high-grade copper mineralisation is not only present but also widespread across significant distances.
Additionally, the Thor System’s HALO occurrence delivered copper grades up to 54.02% copper and 34 g/t silver across a strike length of over 800 metres, further validating the district’s extensive copper endowment.
The Rae Project’s significance lies not only in its high-grade discoveries but also in its potential for large-scale development.
These latest assays cap off an exploration campaign that has systematically expanded the project’s mineralised footprint.
As Whittaker notes, “This maiden campaign in the Canadian North has delivered exceptional results, including assays that may in fact represent the highest grade copper and silver rock chip results in recent history”.
Looking ahead, White Cliff Minerals is poised to integrate these surface findings with the results of their MobileMT geophysical survey, the first of its kind applied at this project.
This will offer further insights into the subsurface potential and identify new drilling targets for 2025.
The Rae Project’s promising results set it apart in an increasingly competitive copper market.
As global demand for copper continues to rise, driven by the transition to renewable energy and electric vehicles, projects like Rae offer a critical solution to meet this growing need.
White Cliff’s strategic position in Nunavut, combined with its high-grade discoveries and potential for expansion, places it in an enviable position within the global copper space.
