Rumble Resources (ASX:RTR) raise the discovery bar at Mato
October 31, 2023 Off By Tom DugganRumble Resources‘ remaining six holes into Mato has further confirmed the prospect as a significant zinc-lead discovery with potential to add significant new tonnage to a maiden MRE which stamped its Earaheedy Project as one of the largest global zinc sulphide discoveries of the decade.
A return of 16m @ 5.09% Zn + Pb earlier this month claimed a discovery hole at Mato and has now been backed up with a suite of results as strong as 29m @ 3.12 % Zn + Pb which all come from a single 800-metre-long drill traverse which remains open in all directions.
It shows the hallmarks of a large mineralised system at Mato, offering a potential economic enhancement to what Rumble see emerging as a world class base metal camp northeast of Wiluna in Western Australia.
The host of style of mineralisation at Mato is a near perfect match of the Chinook-Tonka-Navajoh Zn-Pb deposits which form the Inferred Mineral Resource Estimate of 94Mt @ 3.1% Zn+Pb at Earaheedy, occurring 10 kilometres west of Chinook, a trend where drilling has been limited to three short, mineralised traverses.
With deposits open in all directions and a strike potential now increased to beyond 70 kilometres, Rumble see an exceptional near-term opportunity to build, largely focused on the Navajoh Unconformity Unit host to its current resource.
The aim is to find the large, shallow, flat lying sulphide deposits which would enable large-scale, open-cut mining.
Rumble will also continue work at Mato, with heritage secured for extensional RC drilling to define up-dip and strike extended mineralisation and test the potential for structural repetition of Navajoh to the south.
And Rumble has continued expanding, with a newly acquired 100 per cent interest in tenements west and northwest of Mato opening up further possibilities for discovery from up to 30 kilometres of additional prospective unconformity style lithologies and mineralisation.
