Prospect (ASX:PSC) widen WinBin lithium
December 20, 2023Prospect Resources has returned more alluring intersections of high-grade lithium from a Winbin discovery which continues to expand within the boundaries of its Step Aside Lithium Project in Zimbabwe.
The explorer marked discovery in October with wide intercepts of strongly mineralised pegmatite from shallow depths, backed by a follow-up hole which intersected 33m @ 1.18% from 81m, and now a new spread of high-grade results demonstrating a mineralised feeder zone extending from WinBin which remains open at depth and to the south,
Prospect Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer Sam Hosack said the WinBin discovery had continued to deliver.
“This latest batch of Phase 3 assay results has significantly extended the strike extent of the broader discovery as well as increasing our understanding of the controlling geology in this zone. We look forward to the receipt of the remaining assay results from the Phase 3 programme during Q1 2024 to continue this momentum,” Mr Hosack said.
“We are straight back into it in the New Year with the scheduled Phase 4 drilling set to continue the drill-out of WinBin. This work will also test the area of high-grade intersections previously returned around Pegmatite E to the north.
“I would like to wish all shareholders a safe and happy festive period and look forward to reporting on our activities at Step Aside, and across the broader Prospect exploration portfolio, during 2024.”
A Phase 4 program for 2000 metres targeting extension positions of WInBin further south and following up on high-grade intersections at Pegmatite E is approved and set to begin in January alongside the return of assays from another 10 holes now being analysed in Johannesburg.
