Patriot (ASX:PMT) begin aspiring campaign in Quebec
January 17, 2024Patriot Battery Metals has started 2024 with a bang, launching an aspiring campaign with Quebec’s largest-ever drilling campaign at its Corvette lithium property in James Bay.
Patriot’s ambitious campaign will encompass at least 45,000 meters of drilling work using at least 10 drill rigs, which is expected to continue through Canada’s Winter months until late April.
Additionally, it has completed a winter road, approximately 20 km in length, to reduce dependency on helicopters for drilling work and significantly reduce the per metre cost.
The company has played a significant role in the mining industry’s rapid rise as the world shifts towards electric vehicles and away from combustion engines.
Its existence as a dual-listed Canadian and Australian company depends on a 50-kilometre stretch of ridgeline known as Corvette. This ridgeline is a prominent spine of rock encircled by shallow glacial lakes in the remote James Bay area of Northern Quebec in Canada.
Patriot President Blair Way says the 125-hole program is hoped to improve the geological model and upgrade the mineral resource estimate.
The campaign is the most aggressive yet, completing over 125 drill holes.
“We have another huge year ahead of us with this drill campaign to upgrade the resource and continue to de-risk the project,” Mr Way said.
“It is an exciting time for the company.”
Patriot aims to provide the market with an updated mineral resource estimate in the third quarter of 2024.
