Panther Metals (ASX:PNT) unearths bonanza gold zone, redefining Laverton’s potential
October 30, 2024 Off By MarketOpenRecent drill results from Panther Metals (ASX:PNT) Burtville East (BVE) Gold Project have delivered another wave of standout gold intercepts, positioning the project within Laverton’s coveted gold corridors.
With multiple bonanza grades recorded in the October drilling campaign, BVE’s potential for high-grade underground mining continues to gain traction.
Key Highlights
- Exceptional Grades: Among the recent results, highlights include 6 metres at 28.66 grams per tonne (g/t) of gold from 44 metres, featuring a peak 1-metre interval at 127 g/t Au in drill hole 24BERC06. Similarly, drill hole 24BERC08 returned 8 metres at 15.29 g/t Au from 68 metres, with standout intervals of 52.3 g/t and 56.0 g/t Au over two 1-metre slices.
- Depth and Strike Extensions: The high-grade zones remain open along strike and at depth. The steep plunge of the lodes hints at further untapped potential within the broader Burtville-40 Mile Camp corridor.
Panther Metals Managing Director, Daniel Tuffin, notes, “These results build on the 2022 findings and demonstrate the system’s growing depth and complexity. Burtville East’s mineralisation structure opens up compelling high-grade underground possibilities, with new shoots to explore and the lode remaining impressively open.”
Exploration Strategy and Next Steps
The 2024 RC drilling campaign, spanning 1,678 metres, focused on two main objectives: refining the BVE main lode and step-out drilling to locate new lodes in uncharted zones.
Drill hole 24BERC03 intercepted 1 metre at 3.92 g/t Au at a previously untested depth of 97 metres, extending the mineralised footprint in this area.
Panther is also eyeing an expanded programme to dive deeper into the lode geometry and potential strike extensions.
Initial findings suggest the corridor’s mineralisation is robust enough to underpin a large-scale, high-grade mining venture in Laverton, one of Australia’s most prolific gold regions.
Panther’s Edge: BVE’s Untapped Corridor Potential
The Laverton district’s geologic allure, combined with Panther’s methodical approach, points toward substantial upside.
Historical stockpiles in the area returned grades as high as 38.45 g/t Au, and BVE’s promising structural trends align with known high-grade zones across Panther’s Laverton portfolio.
“The consistency of high-grade intercepts here supports the notion of a sizable mineral system,” Tuffin added. “This phase only scratches the surface, with structural modelling set to illuminate Burtville East’s potential on a broader scale.”
Panther’s next steps focus on refining its models and testing extensions to enhance project economics, building on the success at Burtville East.
This progress has placed the company at the heart of Laverton’s unfolding gold narrative, capturing the industry’s attention as exploration accelerates.
Whether BVE becomes a major discovery or part of a broader system, Panther Metals is committed to revealing Laverton’s full potential.
