Panther Metals (ASX:PNT) digs deeper as Burtville East gold potential shines brighter
April 29, 2025 Off By MarketOpenIn a market that often punishes hype without substance, Panther Metals (ASX:PNT) continues to let its drill rigs do the talking at the Laverton Gold Project.
Fresh off completing its latest drilling campaign — 43 holes spanning 2,544 metres — the explorer has unearthed promising stockpile assay results and a new crop of gold nuggets at Comet Well, adding further gleam to its Laverton ambitions.
Highlights:
- Drilling campaign complete, samples submitted for assay.
- Burtville East stockpiles deliver high-grade gold assays up to 27.2g/t.
- More gold nuggets uncovered at Comet Well, totalling 46.1 grams.
- Metallurgical and mineralogical test work underway to assess mining potential.
While many junior explorers boast “prospectivity,” Panther Metals is building a case grounded in physical gold.
The standout grab samples from Burtville East included 27.20g/t Au (sample GS87) and 25.80g/t Au (sample GS26) — numbers that, even in a historically prolific belt, demand attention.
At the Comet Well prospect, a third-party prospecting group has added to the excitement, reporting the discovery of 77 nuggets and three ironstone specimens, weighing a total of 46.1 grams.
With drill assays pending, Panther has sharpened its focus on chasing the primary gold source.
“This exploration programme was again executed safely and efficiently, allowing the Company to fast-track further sampling of existing gold stockpiles at Burtville East prior to metallurgical and mineralogical testing,” said Panther Managing Director and CEO Daniel Tuffin.
“Ongoing prospecting success within the Comet Well area continues to highlight the prospectivity of the broader Laverton Gold Project, particularly for high-grade gold occurrences.”
The point of difference?
Panther isn’t starting from scratch. Burtville East boasts historical underground workings, existing high-grade stockpiles ready for treatment, and visible extensions from earlier drilling.
Unlike many early-stage hopefuls, Panther is tactically testing material that could potentially be monetised — an important step toward de-risking future development.
With metallurgical and mineralogical test results expected soon, Panther is positioning itself to not just find gold — but to prove it can be economically extracted.
For investors chasing substance over spin, this progress might be worth watching.
