Kingston (ASX:KSN) confirms a mirror discovery at Mineral Hill

February 15, 2024 Off By Jack Baker

Kingston Resources has claimed another copper find at Mineral Hill, striking high-grade mineralisation in a mirror to its recent discovery at the Southern Ore Zone footwall and confirming continuity of a mineralised structure at the former operating mine in the Cobar Basin of New South Wales.

The discovery came with a 21m at 1.49% copper equivalent from 254m highlight intercept, lying less than 200 metres from the existing underground development.

Kingston believes it opens the door for rapid resource expansion and mine life extension, and Managing Director Andrew Corbett said the company was excited to announce the exceptional results from this round of follow up drilling.

“Mineral Hill has an extensive mineral system, and we have been eagerly working to showcase the vast exploration potential within the mine and nearby expansion opportunities,” Mr Corbett said.

“This achievement marks a significant milestone for Kingston, as it paves the way for further discoveries within the mine.”

The explorer’s Chief Geologist Stuart Hayward added that the insights derived from two holes were a major technical advancement for the geology team.

“This latest drill hole not only provides greater confidence in the continuity of this structure, but it also expands the near mine potential along strike and down dip of SOZ (Southern Ore Zone),” Mr Hayward said.

“These intercepts allow us to build our knowledge on the controls on mineralisation at SOZ and broader tenure at Mineral Hill, allowing us to update our deposit-scale geological models across the mineral field and region.”

Resources for Mineral Hill have now been tallied from five separate ore bodies within the mining lease and ore reserves for three, and Kingston will now be incorporating all recent drill data into an updated geological interpretation for input into an updated resource estimate.

The company is confident is has the foundation in place to unlock the remaining production from Mineral Hill after the mine was placed into care and maintenance in 2016 and eye off a low-capital entry to several production-ready open pit and underground deposits.
