Kingsland (ASX:KNG) bring in final assays for the Leliyn MRE

Kingsland (ASX:KNG) bring in final assays for the Leliyn MRE

December 18, 2023 Off By Tom Duggan

The maiden resource will have to wait for next year, but Kingsland Minerals has brought in more thick and high-grade intercepts as another teaser before fully unveiling an MRE from just a quarter of the 20-kilometre graphitic schist at its Leliyn Graphite Project in the Northern Territory.

Assays of 160m @ 5.6 % TGC from 36m, 43m @ 9.9 % TGC from 206m, and 94m @ 7.4 % TGC from 30m incl. 14m @ 11.53% TGC from 32m build on similar results which have continued to show glimpses into the project’s high-grades and massive scale.

Kingsland Managing Director Richard Maddocks said the company has now completed an exceptional maiden program at Leliyn.

“We have returned world class graphite drilling intersections which really underpin the considerable upside for Leliyn to develop into a globally significant graphite deposit,” Mr Maddocks said.

“Estimation of the maiden Mineral Resource Estimate and metallurgical test-work are both well underway with results expected during the March 2024 quarter.

“These two key milestones have immense potential to develop Leliyn into an important critical minerals project in the Northern Territory.”

All assays have now been handed over to independent geologists to complete the maiden resource estimate, and metallurgical test-work to confirm a commercial grade concentrate continues apace.

Work on rehabilitating the project site has also begun alongside plans for the next year’s drill campaign, directed at infilling current drilling to allow for an upgraded classification to indicated and a more detailed look at the project’s viability as Kingsland look towards rearing a premium graphite asset within its tier-1 territory.
