Nimy (ASX:NIM) see massive sulphides at Mons

July 19, 2023 0 By Tom Duggan

Nimy Resources’ MLEM survey has successfully identified and modelled two high conductance electromagnetic plates with conductivity consistent with massive sulphides, adding top priority drill targets to its Mons Project in Western Australia.

Applications for drilling are already underway, and three similar anomalies are undergoing evaluation, with potential to yield more top-end targets within a district scale land package holding noted geological similarities to the Kambalda Nickel Belt.

“These results provide the most compelling evidence yet of nickel massive sulphides and a potential high-grade nickel sulphide deposit at Mons. We are highly encouraged by the positioning, size, and conductivity of the plates following extensive work across a large electromagnetic survey data set. We have prioritised this target for drilling,” Nimy Executive Director Luke Hampson said.

Mons future metals

While the focus for Nimy is developing a newly discovered district scale nickel belt at Mons and a large 2546 square kilometre land package covering an entire province in the Yilgarn Craton, Mons holds the potential for a trove of future-facing commodities.

Assays and geophysical results have shown the potential for a lithium discovery within the borders of Mons, and the Western Australian Government has co-funded a 1000 metre diamond hole to test for rare earth mineralisation in a land package unexplored for the suite of in-demand minerals.

A Programme of Works is now being compiled for submission, and Nimy expect assays to come in soon from maiden drilling after striking extensive pegmatites beneath the lithium anomaly at Mons.
