Miramar (ASX:M2R) show added promise at Gidji
January 19, 2023Miramar Resources’ second look has shown pathfinders pointing to high-grade nickel and copper at its 80%-owned Gidji JV Project in the Eastern Goldfields of Western Australia.
Re-analysed multiple aircore holes have produced further significant platinum and palladium assays often indicative of nickel sulphide mineralisation.
The Company said the Gidji Project, lying a handy 15km north of Kalgoorlie, is highly promising for gold, nickel and copper due to its underlying ultramafic structure.
“The local geology of the Gidji JV Project is very similar to that seen at Scotia, with a steep westerly dipping sequence of mafic and ultramafic rocks, including the Highway Ultramafic unit, above a footwall sequence of sediments and basalt,” Executive Chairman Allan Kelly said.
“High nickel, by itself, is not a good indicator of nickel sulphide mineralisation but can instead result from the high background nickel content in the ultramafic stratigraphy and lateritic weathering.
“The combination of elevated nickel and copper with elevated PGE results, however, is strongly suggestive of a relationship between the higher nickel results and a nickel sulphide source.”
Gidji JV Project is showing “Highway Ultramafic” and nearby nickel occurrences.

Next Steps
Plans are underway to cover these highly prospective nickel targets with a ground electromagnetic (EM) survey, followed by RC and diamond drilling of the basal contact targets.
