Caprice Resources has reported final air core drilling results from its Island Gold Project, with drilling defining multiple gold targets along strike from the Vadrians deposit.

Highlights

  • 161 air core holes completed across the Island Gold Project targeting the BIF corridor north and south of Vadrians
  • Final batch of 90 holes returned multiple zones of anomalous gold along strike from Vadrians
  • Trig Gully target defines over 500m anomalous gold trend with intercepts including 4m @ 1.11g/t Au from 12m
  • Orient Gully and Ironclad Extended targets identified with anomalous gold associated with cross cutting structures
  • Targets to be tested with RC drilling as part of a 50,000m programme

The air core drilling programme targeted the easterly banded iron formation corridor, which hosts shallow historical gold workings north and south of the Vadrians deposit, and forms part of ongoing exploration activities across the Island Gold Project.

The final batch of 90 holes was drilled on nominal 200m line spacing with 40m to 80m on line intervals.

The announcement states that drilling returned multiple zones of low level gold anomalism along strike from Vadrians, with these zones associated with cross cutting structures identified within the project area.

At Trig Gully, drilling defined an anomalous trend extending over 500m, with intercepts including 4m @ 1.11g/t Au from 12m, 4m @ 0.87g/t Au from surface and 4m @ 0.79g/t Au from 32m. At Orient Gully, drilling returned 4m @ 0.56g/t Au from 12m.

At Ironclad Extended, drilling defined a 250m anomalous trend with intercepts including 4m @ 0.73g/t Au from 12m.

Caprice Resources Managing Director Luke Cox stated that

“These final air core results represent an important step in expanding the scale of the Island Gold Project, with multiple new gold targets now defined both north and south along strike from Vadrians.”

The announcement states that the targets defined from the air core programme will be tested with reverse circulation drilling, with the Company currently undertaking a 50,000m RC drilling programme at the Island Gold Project.

Additional air core drilling is planned along the western side of the project to test priority structural targets, including the Starlight basalt stratigraphic unit.

The results define multiple anomalous gold zones along strike from the Vadrians deposit, with follow up drilling planned across the Island Gold Project.
