Corazon Mining (ASX:CZN) identifies walk-up drill targets at Feather Cap
April 16, 2026Corazon Mining has identified two additional gold targets at its Feather Cap Gold Project in Western Australia following a review of historical drilling and surface geochemistry data.
Highlights
- Two additional gold targets identified: Trudgeon Well and Murphy’s Creek
- 3.5km lag anomaly defined at Trudgeon Well with no prior drilling
- Historical sampling returned peaks exceeding 100ppb Au, including 760ppb Au
- Murphy’s Creek drilling returned 10m @ 0.6g/t Au from 20m, including 5m @ 1.0g/t Au
- Surface results at Murphy’s Creek include 1.13g/t Au rock chips and 39ppb Au soil anomaly
- Targets generated from historical data review ahead of planned field activities
At Trudgeon Well, regional surface sampling completed by Western Mining in 1991 defined a 3.5km lag anomaly over interpreted Narracoota Volcanics.
Sampling returned multiple peaks exceeding 100ppb Au, including 760ppb Au. No drilling has been conducted at this target.
At Murphy’s Creek, surface soil sampling and rock chip data defined a 1km x 1km anomalous area, with rock chip sampling returning 1.13g/t Au from outcropping vein material and soil sampling recording values up to 39ppb Au.
Historical RAB drilling returned 10m @ 0.6g/t Au from 20m, including 5m @ 1.0g/t Au from 25m at end-of-hole. No deeper or along-strike drilling has been completed.
Murphy’s Creek is located along strike from Westgold Resources’ Durack Gold Deposit, reported at 112koz Au.
The Feather Cap project is located within a gold-producing region that includes operations at Fortnum, Peak Hill, Horseshoe and Labouchere, which collectively account for approximately 2Moz of historical gold production.
Corazon Managing Director Simon Coyle said:
“We are extremely pleased with the results of this historical data review, which has confirmed our belief in the significant potential of the Feather Cap project. This low-cost exercise has immediately generated multiple high-priority, walk-up drill targets that have seen little to no modern exploration.”
The company plans to complete site reconnaissance at both Trudgeon Well and Murphy’s Creek, undertake surface mapping and follow-up sampling, and progress drill program planning at Feather Cap.
These activities are intended to refine drill targeting across both prospects ahead of a maiden drilling program.
Corazon is also awaiting assay results from its maiden drill program at the Two Pools Gold Project in Western Australia, which concluded in the prior week.
