Brookside Energy has executed a drilling contract to secure a rig for its upcoming development program in the SWISH Area of Interest in the Anadarko Basin, Oklahoma.

The contract relates to a two-well development pad at the Suttles location, with site preparation and infrastructure planning progressing ahead of drilling.

Highlights

  • Executed IADC Drilling Contract with Kenai Drilling for Rig 18
  • Rig currently completing a two-well program in the Ardmore Basin before mobilisation
  • Suttles pad to include Sabres Well targeting Sycamore Formation and Whalers Well targeting Woodford Formation
  • Each well designed with approximately 1.5-mile lateral sections
  • Earthworks nearing completion with site preparation progressing in line with expectations
  • Surface facility planning and procurement underway, including tank batteries
  • Construction scheduled for completion prior to rig mobilisation to support transition to production and first sales

Rig 18 is currently engaged in a two-well program in the Ardmore Basin, located south of the SWISH Area of Interest, and will move to Brookside’s location following completion of those operations.

The rig has been contracted for the drilling of the Company’s next development pad at Suttles, which will comprise two wells targeting separate formations.

The Sabres Well is designed to target the Sycamore Formation, while the Whalers Well is designed to target the Woodford Formation.

Each well includes lateral sections of approximately 1.5 miles and is planned to be drilled in a similar orientation to the Continental Resources Courbet and Gapstow development areas located immediately to the south.

Once drilling commences, operations are expected to continue uninterrupted through the drilling and casing of both wells on the Suttles pad, while design, planning and procurement activities for surface production facilities, including tank batteries, are underway.

Construction of these facilities is scheduled to be completed prior to the drilling rig moving onto location.

Brookside Managing Director and CEO David Prentice said,

“Securing Rig 18 advances our next phase of development in the SWISH AOI, and we look forward to working with Kenai again, who have supported us throughout the development of our SWISH AOI acreage.” He added, “With site preparation nearing completion and planning well advanced, we’re well positioned to move directly into drilling once the rig is released from its current commitments.”

Brookside has indicated it will provide further updates as operations progress, with the Suttles pad program representing the next scheduled drilling activity within its SWISH Area of Interest.

The company has confirmed that earthworks are nearing completion and that surface facility construction is scheduled ahead of rig mobilisation, with drilling planned to commence following the release of Rig 18 from its current program.
