Diablo Resources (ASX: DBO) expands Star Range footprint as exploration advances

March 6, 2026 Off By MarketOpen

Diablo Resources Limited has expanded the footprint of its Star Range Silver Antimony Project in Utah after securing additional tenure adjacent to the priority South Star Prospect, increasing the overall project area to approximately 5,242 acres.

The additional ground brings further prospective terrain within the company’s exploration program and consolidates Diablo’s position along the broader Star Range corridor.

Field programs are now underway across the expanded project area while geophysical survey results remain pending, with both streams expected to guide the next phase of work ahead of a maiden drilling program anticipated in the second quarter of 2026.

Diablo Resources Chief Executive Officer Lyle Thorne spoke with MarketOpen to answer key investor questions in relation to the expanded project footprint, the sequencing of exploration activities and the steps required before drilling decisions are finalised.

What does securing the additional tenure adjacent to South Star change in terms of the overall scale potential of the Star Range project?

Securing the additional tenure strengthens our footprint in a similar geological setting to the South Star prospect and materially expands the overall scale of the Star Range Project. From a planning perspective, it allows us to evaluate the broader structural corridor using knowledge already gained form our ongoing exploration activities to quickly hone in on areas of intertest.

For investors, the practical outcome is a larger, more continuous land position where exploration can progress across a wider footprint while maintaining clear focus on priority targets. The new ground also lies along the same corridor that hosts the South Star silver–antimony anomaly, giving us the opportunity to test whether that mineralised trend continues further to the east as part of the current program.

What evidence suggests the newly acquired ground could extend the same mineralised trend identified at South Star?

The rationale is based on the location of the newly secured ground relative to the South Star corridor. We see historic workings and structural trends within the new ground that align with the orientations observed at South Star, providing a clear exploration basis for extending work into the new area.

Securing the tenure allows us to test that possibility directly through mapping and sampling that has already commenced across the new area as part of the current exploration program.

How are you sequencing mapping, sampling and IP results to prioritise targets ahead of drilling?

Our approach is to build the exploration framework in stages so that each dataset contributes to narrowing the focus before drilling decisions are made. Field mapping and sampling across the expanded ground represent the first step because they help us understand how the broader corridor is expressed across the project area.

At the same time, we have completed a geophysical survey across one of the priority anomalies at our North Star Prospect and those results are currently being processed by consultants. The intention is to combine that information with the previous work so that priority targets are defined using multiple datasets rather than relying on a single input.

What key workstreams must be completed before the maiden drill program planned for the second quarter of 2026 is finalised?

The results from the recent geophysical survey are being processed and interpreted by consultants. Those results will form an important input when determining our final drill hole locations for our planned maiden drill program.

Once drill locations are finalised, we can quickly lodge our permits for regulatory drilling approval and continue logistical planning for the program, scheduled for Q2/2026..

Next phase focused on target definition ahead of drilling

With additional ground now secured and exploration programs underway, Diablo Resources focus remains on building a disciplined understanding of the Star Range corridor before committing to drilling.

The integration of mapping, sampling and geophysical results is expected to clarify which parts of the project warrant the next phase of work as the company advances toward its maiden drill program in 2026.

By consolidating tenure across the broader corridor the company now holds a stronger position from which to assess the system as a whole, while the upcoming exploration stages will determine how that opportunity develops within the expanded project area.
