Duketon Mining (ASX:DKM) delivers high-grade gold hits in inaugural Killarney Drilling Program
August 14, 2025Duketon Mining (ASX:DKM) has completed its first reverse circulation (RC) drilling program at the Killarney Gold Project in Western Australia, returning multiple high-grade gold intercepts from beneath the historical shallow pit and across a cross-cutting geochemical anomaly.
The project, located 63 kilometres east of Mount Magnet and approximately 80 kilometres west of Sandstone, is positioned within a highly prospective Archean greenstone belt.
Managing Director Stuart Fogarty provides insight into the results, mineralisation style, program design, next steps, and the project’s strategic role in Duketon’s portfolio.
What were the standout results from the inaugural RC drilling at Killarney?
Several high-quality results from the 17-hole, 1,716 metre program highlight the potential of Killarney.
Notable intersections include 9 metres at 4.64 grams per tonne gold from 54 metres in hole 25KRC009, which contained a one metre sample grading 39.77 grams per tonne gold, 10 metres at 2.33 grams per tonne from 32 metres in 25KRC001, 9 metres at 2.12 grams per tonne from surface in 25KRC013, and 7 metres at 3.45 grams per tonne from 29 metres in 25KRC011.
From our first ever RC drill program at Killarney, we received several high-quality results that show the project’s potential and provide an excellent foundation for further exploration. These results are supported by additional zones of anomalous to moderate gold mineralisation across the program.
What does the drilling tell you about the mineralisation style and potential at Killarney?
The gold mineralisation occurs within zones of heavily weathered ferruginous saprolite with variable quartz veining. Beneath the shallow pit, highly weathered zones down plunge of the mineralised structures transition into fresh metamorphosed coarse-grained gabbro.
The mineralisation remains open at depth and along strike to the northeast under transported cover.
The drilling confirms that the gold mineralisation at Killarney is hosted within zones of heavily weathered ferruginous saprolite containing varying amounts of quartz veining, which is typical of Archean greenstone belt settings known to host significant gold deposits.
While the geometry of the mineralised zones is still being defined, the combination of shallow high grades and open extensions presents a clear opportunity for further work.
How was the drilling program designed and what was its scope?
The inaugural campaign targeted both the area beneath the shallow historical pit and a cross-cutting geochemical anomaly.
Drilling below the pit was conducted on a 20 metre by 20 metre spacing to support early-stage interpretation. All holes were drilled to the north using a face sampling hammer, with one metre samples collected from the cyclone and cone splitter and samples prepared for analysis.
The deepest hole reached 148 metres, ensuring coverage of both near-surface and deeper target zones.
What are the next steps for the Killarney Project following these results?
The next RC drilling program will focus on extending the highest-grade zones and testing along strike to the northeast where mineralisation remains open beneath transported cover.
Additional targets from geochemical anomalies will also be assessed, and further structural data will be collected to define the geometry of mineralised bodies more accurately.
With the results from this first program now in hand, our immediate focus is on planning the next RC drill program, which will target extensions to the highest-grade intercepts and test areas where mineralisation remains open both at depth and along strike to the northeast under transported cover.
This work will build directly on the understanding gained from the first program.
How does the Killarney Project fit into Duketon’s broader strategy?
Killarney is located close to infrastructure and accessible by well-maintained gravel roads and station tracks. It was identified, drilled, and confirmed to host high-grade gold mineralisation in its first program.
Killarney fits squarely within our strategy of building a strong gold asset base through targeted exploration and systematic project advancement.
The project joins the growing Duketon Mining portfolio and marks an important de-risking milestone in the exploration cycle.
Focused on Building the Gold Asset Base
The first drilling campaign at Killarney has confirmed high-grade gold mineralisation and highlighted the potential for extensions both at depth and along strike.
These results mark an important early achievement in the project’s development, and planning is underway for the next round of drilling to follow up on these strong intercepts.
As Managing Director Stuart Fogarty notes,
the program has delivered results that align closely with Duketon’s strategy of disciplined, targeted exploration designed to deliver long-term shareholder value.
