Flynn Gold (ASX:FG1) grabs high-grade gold connection from Apple Isle adit

Flynn Gold mapping and vein sampling has discovered a zone of high-grade gold mineralisation at the Link Zone prospect within the adit of the historic Golden Ridge mine in northeastern Tasmania.

Underground grabs of the mineralised veins recorded assays of 64.4, 37.6, and 15.9 grams per tonne gold, providing a high-grade connection to the Trafalgar and Brilliant prospects and the potential of a long stretch of strike going down a minimum of 500 metres.

Mineralisation presents new drill targets and an offer to significantly extend the system between Brilliant and Trafalgar, where diamond drilling is now underway to infill high-grade zones and test for extensions.

Flynn Gold is targeting a mineralised contact which has now grown to over 9km long, and Managing Director and CEO Neil Marston said its confidence in an extensive, high-grade intrusive system continued to grow.

“High grade mineralisation exists within an increasingly well-defined corridor that has the potential to link the Brilliant and Trafalgar prospects over a strike length of 2.5km,” Marston said.

“Whilst drilling is ongoing at Trafalgar our exploration team is actively exploring to further extend the gold system at Golden Ridge which we expect will lead to identifying additional drilling targets similar to the Link Zone.”

Mapping and sampling over the Link Zone are ongoing, and Flynn is looking at larger volume future work to avoid a nugget effect as it plans for future drilling.

Fieldwork directed at spotting up more targets for the drill is also underway along the contact of the granite intrusion

While there are operating mines in the Apple Isle, Flynn believes it has claimed a first mover advantage in the northeast of one of the most mineralised places on earth.

The Melbourne-headquartered company sees a geological kinship between its nine fully owned tenements in the region and the Victorian Goldfields, offering discovery potential for both gold and tin.

Its aim is to quickly prove up high-grade gold deposits for high-priced bars, and a diamond drilling campaign now underway could prove very significant towards that end.
