Balkan (ASX:BMM) strike more Gorge spodumene

December 12, 2023 Off By Rueben Hale

Balkan Mining and Minerals has struck wide visual spodumene at the Koshman Prospect as it continues drilling its way through its Gorge Lithium Project and towards the potential of a substantial lithium deposit and full ownership in Ontario.

Eight of the ten holes completed have now intersected visible spodumene and comes among several pegmatite occurrences at Gorge with widths and visible content ranging up to 16.83m and 20 per cent.

The most recent hole at Koshman struck a 16.8 metre width of visible spodumene, coming off the heels of a 5 to 15% visible content seen from a 7.6m depth at Nelson with numerous other targets worthy of investigation.

Assays are still due, but Balkan Managing Director Ross Cotton said the consistency of spodumene encountered in initial testing of Koshman was extremely encouraging.

“We can’t wait to receive assay results which we hope will validate our theory that Gorge has the potential to become a substantial lithium deposit,” Mr Cotton said.

With the last completed hole intersecting some 17m of visual spodumene, it appears that we’re getting better results as we go along so we’re hoping that the best of this program is yet ahead of us.”

There is about another 1000 metres of drilling yet to go at Gorge, and 180 samples are now in the lab with assays expected in the coming three to six weeks.

The first phase of drilling moved BMM to half ownership of the Canadian Project after completing its first phase of drilling and the explorer has its eye on the possibility of full ownership if results continue to impress.
