Stewart Dickson

Stewart Dickson – Managing Director & CEO

Stewart Dickson has been the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Variscan Mines Limited since 2017. He brings extensive corporate and commercial experience from the natural resources and financial services sectors. 

Prior to his role at Variscan Mines, Dickson served as Managing Director and Head of Metals & Mining at Cantor Fitzgerald Europe in London. In this capacity, he was responsible for client coverage of public and private mining companies across various commodities, including precious metals, base metals, bulks, fertilizers, and specialty metals. His experience encompasses financial advisory, equity capital markets, mergers and acquisitions, corporate governance, and regulatory compliance. 

Before entering the financial sector, Dickson served as a commissioned officer in the British Army. He is a graduate of University College London and the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst, and holds an MBA from Henley Business School. 

Under Dickson’s leadership, Variscan Mines has pursued strategic changes, including the acquisition and development of high-quality mineral projects in Spain and Chile. 

In addition to his role at Variscan Mines, Dickson has served as a Non-Executive Director of London-listed Trans-Siberian Gold plc, a low-cost gold producer in Russia.
