White Cliff Minerals (ASX:WCN) intersects copper sulphides beside Danvers 1
White Cliff Minerals has reported further observations of copper sulphides from recent drilling at its Rae Copper Project, including the first hole into an untested parallel structure beside Danvers 1.
Northeastern infill drilling also intersected copper sulphides in all 3 latest holes, as the company continues geological modelling and works towards a maiden Exploration Target and Mineral Resource Estimate.
Highlights
DAN26053 intersected multiple zones of copper sulphides from as shallow as 16m downhole, with 28.52m observed across chalcocite and chalcopyrite bearing veins and breccias.
DAN26051, DAN26055 and DAN26057 recorded visual copper sulphide lengths of 43.68m, 165.67m and 94.50m respectively, covering 1397m of lateral strike.
The mineralised footprint extends more than 2.3km northeast of the 2025 Danvers 1 drilling.
Airborne geophysics is underway across the 72km Rae Group and Husky Creek Formation contact, with coverage extending to Thor and Rocket.
Assays are expected in 6 to 8 weeks, and the reported intervals are downhole lengths with true widths unknown.
DAN26053 was collared on a previously untested parallel magnetic low less than 200m east of the Danvers 1 trend.
The structure joins the main northeastern trend approximately 480m northeast of the drillhole and continues southwest for another 2.3km, while several further parallel magnetic features remain untested.
The announcement states that 2026 drilling confirmed copper mineralisation spatially correlates with linear magnetic low features representing structures through the basalts.
Danvers 1 can be traced northeast along such a feature, with multiple drillholes confirming copper presence through assays, and is among several parallel magnetic lows outside the main Teshierpi Fault Zone.
The latest infill holes were designed to address widely spaced Phase 1 drilling and remove geological pinch points.
DAN26051, a 60m step out northeast of DAN26027, tested continuity and the stacked nature of mineralisation, with a Danvers typical chalcocite and bornite breccia observed between 160m and 170.38m downhole.
DAN26055 was collared 247m southwest of DAN26031, where chalcocite, bornite and chalcopyrite were logged in veins, veinlets, breccia cements and blebs within the target structure.
DAN26057 was completed within a gap exceeding 650m between DAN26031 and DAN26033, returning observations of disseminated copper sulphide blebs.
White Cliff Managing Director Troy Whittaker said,
“We have a growing set of copper targets to pursue alongside resource definition at Danvers 1.”
The visual observations are distinct from laboratory assay results.
The announcement states that visual estimates of mineral abundance should never be considered a proxy or substitute for laboratory analyses where concentrations or grades are the factor of principal economic interest.
Such estimates may also provide no information regarding impurities or deleterious physical properties relevant to valuations.
Sander Geophysics is conducting the airborne magnetic, gravity and radiometric survey to provide higher resolution data for geological interpretation and targeting.
At Thor and Rocket, 2024 surface rock sampling identified vein and breccia systems, with the new dataset intended to refine targets and guide future drilling.
Diamond drilling continues across the Danvers 1 northeastern trend and Danvers 2 and 3 areas, alongside testing of parallel structures.
The program continues to prioritise the northeastern extension, with current drilling expected to support definition of an Exploration Target and progression towards a maiden Mineral Resource Estimate.
