Viking Mines Limited (ASX:VKA) reports assay results from Linka tailings sampling programme
Viking Mines Limited has reported assay results from a 52-sample tailings characterisation programme at the Linka Tungsten Project in Nevada, USA.
The programme returned consistently low residual tungsten grades from samples collected across the historical tailings dam.
Highlights
52 tailings samples collected from historical tailings dam at Linka Project, Nevada
Thickness weighted average grade of 0.03% WO3 reported
Maximum individual result of 0.15% WO3 reported
Metallurgical testwork produced 56.9% WO3 concentrate at 76% recovery
Maiden RC drilling remains scheduled to commence in July
The 52 samples were collected across the historical tailings dam at the Linka Project, returning a thickness weighted average grade of 0.03% WO3 and a maximum individual result of 0.15% WO3, with the sampling programme completed at the Linka Tungsten Project in Nevada.
The Company has also reported that metallurgical testwork previously produced a 56.9% WO3 concentrate at 76% recovery, with maiden reverse circulation drilling at the Linka Project remaining scheduled to commence in July.
Viking Mines Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer Julian Woodcock said,
“The tailings programme has delivered a useful and positive result. Very little tungsten appears to have been left behind in the historical tailings dam, which supports the view that the historical operation recovered tungsten extremely efficiently from Linka ore.”
Maiden RC drilling at the Linka Tungsten Project remains scheduled to commence in July, with the tailings sampling programme forming part of ongoing work at the Linka Tungsten Project in Nevada.
Metallurgical testwork and stockpile sampling results have also been reported as part of the Company’s broader dataset for the project.
The planned drilling programme is scheduled for July and is intended to further test the Linka tungsten system.
