SQX Resources (ASX:SQX) confirms high-grade continuity at Red Bird with channel sampling results

SQX Resources has reported channel sampling results from its Red Bird Gold Project in Arizona, with systematic chip-channel sampling across surface and shallow underground levels confirming the presence of high-grade gold mineralisation within a structurally controlled epithermal system.

The programme was designed to validate historical data and assess grade continuity ahead of drilling results expected in the near term.

Highlights

The sampling programme comprised continuous, representative chip-channel sampling across the 0m, 6m, 13m and 17m levels, as well as surface exposures east of the main Red Bird shaft.

The results demonstrate strong grade continuity within the core of the system, with high-grade mineralisation associated with fault zones and hydrothermal breccias, alongside variable silica, jarosite and hematite alteration.

Standout results from the 13m and 17m levels, including 13.7m @ 16.0g/t Au, 6.7m @ 18.3g/t Au and 16.1m @ 6.4g/t Au, reinforce the presence of a robust high-grade core.

In parallel, intercepts such as 18.3m @ 1.2g/t Au confirm broader zones of lower-grade mineralisation surrounding the core, supporting the interpretation of a mineralised halo.

Geologically, mineralisation at Red Bird is hosted within the Cretaceous Bisbee Formation, comprising limestone, sandstone and conglomerate, with gold occurring in an epithermal system characterised by quartz veins, breccias and silicic and argillic alteration, alongside additional lower-grade carbonate replacement alteration.

The programme provides technical validation of historical work, with continuous chip-channel sampling and the replication of historical assay results supporting the reliability of datasets generated by Homestake Mining during the 1970s and 1980s.

SQX Executive Director Dr Julian Stephens said,

“These results demonstrate excellent grade continuity and confirm the historical sampling methodology used across the project. With our maiden drilling program now concluded, we look forward to the assay results to further define the potential at Red Bird.”

In parallel with the sampling results, the company has completed a maiden 25-hole RC drilling programme totalling 2,509m, targeting mineralisation within and around the Red Bird workings as well as step-out positions along strike and down dip.

All samples have been submitted to ALS Tucson laboratories, with results expected to be reported progressively as they are received and verified.

Further work is being planned, including high-definition magnetics and IP surveys aimed at identifying targets at depth and potential additional zones beyond the current workings.

Within SQX’s broader portfolio, Red Bird sits alongside other North American assets held through its 80% interest in AM6 Mining, including the Williams Gold–Silver Project in Montana.

The project benefits from multiple levels of historical underground development and a dataset that now incorporates both legacy and modern sampling.

The next phase of activity centres on the release of drilling results, which are expected to provide additional insight into the scale and continuity of mineralisation and inform the pathway toward further exploration and potential resource definition.
